Free technology training vouchers for Kentuckians for online job training

Posted:

Governor Steve Beshear says vouchers are now available for Kentuckians to get free online job training and certification.

Kentucky joined forces with Microsoft in January 2010 in order to offer the training to residents through the public-private initiative "Microsoft Elevate America."

The first distribution of vouchers was reserved for unemployed workers, but a statement from the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet said more than 18,000 vouchersremain. They are being distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kentucky is the 12th state to participate in the initiative.
