Ft. Knox soldier arrested for child porn

A Fort Knox soldier and his girlfriend have been arrested for child porn.  "Very, very graphic, it's just very sad that anyone of that age could be victimized in this manner," said Elizabethtown Police Officer Virgil Willoughby as he described the disturbing pictures and videos of children being sexually assaulted.

Investigators said the child porn was found on 37-year-old Vincent Irvin's computer.  "If you just Google child pornography you're not going to get hits on something like what's being shown.  So this is something that you really have to really delve into to be able to find what's on this computer," Willoughby said.

Elizabethtown Police arrested the soldier and his 23-year-old girlfriend Clara Rickman after Fort Knox officials found more than 2300 images of child porn on Irvin's computer.  "Based on the fact they both lived in the home, they both used the computer and again based on some statements she made, is why she was arrested," Willoughby said.

Investigators said Irvin thought he had a virus on his computer and had the technical department on post take a look at the PC.  "In the process of them trying to repair the virus is when they noticed some images of what's just described as child pornography."

Officer Willoughby said some of the children in the child porn on Irvin's computer have been identified by the Center for Missing and Exploited Children.  "Some that we know have been victimized, we know their names," he said.

Calls to Fort Knox officials have not been returned to Fox 41.   Irvin and Rickman both face charges of portraying a minor in a sexual act.
