Seneca H.S. coach arrested for DUI

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- The Seneca High School boys head basketball coach is arrested for a hit and run -- and DUI.

Kentucky State Police arrested Coach Matthew Lemon in Shelby County on July 30. His mug shot shows him wearing a Seneca Basketball polo shirt.

Police say his blood alcohol level was .189, more than twice the legal limit, when he hit an oncoming car and took off.

Lemon says he had just left a golf course and had five beers.

He posted his $500 cash bond the next day and got out of jail.

JCPS says Lemon has been with the district since 2005, but it's his first year as a teacher and head boys basketball coach at Seneca.

The district says Lemon did notify the district of the six charges.

It also says since they're misdemeanors and it happened during his personal time, it doesn't affect his discipline or employment status.
