Louisville, Ky. (WDRB-TV Fox 41) -- Kentucky Kingdom is on track to open in the spring of next year.
The Kentucky State Fair Board President says entrepreneur and former Kentucky Kingdom owner Ed Hart's business plan is just about ready. It's expected to be presented to the Fair Board in October.
Harold Workman says, "We have negotiated diligently to acquire the ownership of the rides and property, reached an agreement on that."
The agreement must be approved by a bankruptcy judge on September 15th.
The former Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom closed back in February. It had prided itself on being the area's largest employer of teenagers during summers.
This year's Kentucky State Fair added rides to its Midway to take up some of the slack.
