NOTE: Fox41.com is pleased to bring you Tom Lane's daily Sports Minute! It's a new Web-exclusive feature that will bring you the latest in sports every day! And don't let the name "Sports Minute" fool you. Some days the clip may be longer than others! Today, Tom Lane brings you a play in the Butler - PRP game Friday night that some are calling nothing short of amazing!
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Butler Football Coach Scott Carmony is discussing what he says is one of the wildest endings to a football game you will ever see.
Friday night at PRP, the Panthers barely get across the goal line to go up 41-34 with 1.8 seconds left on the clock. It was time for one last kickoff. Butler starts lateraling to keep the play alive -- and a Bear player is nearly tackled. In fact, the P.A. announcer says the game is over, and the Pleasure Ridge players flow onto the field to celebrate their big win.
Only it's not over.
Butler continues to lateral its way down the field. Brenton Caldwell takes it in for a touchdown. Chaos ensues, much like the Cal-Stanford finish 18 years ago through the band.
After a delay, it's ruled a touchdown. Carmony decides to go for two. Quarterback J.D. Morgan scores. More delirium ensues, and Butler beats their rival 42-41.
