NEW YORK (AP) - Delightful Quality held off Sure Route by a nose yesterday in the $72,520 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Belmont Park. Javier Castellano guided the 4-year-old trained by Tom Albertrani to her second win in seven starts.

CINCINNATI (AP) - Sean Marshall has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Reds for the second time this season because of a sore pitching shoulder. Marshall's left shoulder became tired during spring training, and he went on the disabled list from April 10-25 with tendinitis.

CINCINNATI (AP) - The Bengals have signed running back Giovani Bernard of North Carolina. That leaves only 1 of their 10 draft picks without a deal. Bernard was the second of their two picks in the second round. He'll get a chance to win a spot as a change-of-pace back, complementing BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Russ Cochran and Kenny Perry each shot 5-under 66 yesterday to share the second round lead in the Senior PGA Championship. The longtime Kentucky friends were 7 under at Bellerive Country Club in the major championship. They will play together for the third straight day today.
