Morehead State back in NCAA Tournament after 25 years

Morehead State's first NCAA tournament appearance in 25 years could have them facing a familiar foe.

The Eagles (19-15) will play Alabama A&M in the play-in game on Tuesday night, with the winner getting the opportunity to play top-seeded Louisville on Friday.

The Cardinals beat the Eagles 79-41 at Freedom Hall on Nov. 22.  Morehead State advanced to the tournament following a stirring run through the Ohio Valley Conference tournament that culminated in a 67-65 double-overtime win over Austin Peay in the championship game.

The NCAA berth is the final step in a three-year turnaround for the program under coach Donnie Tyndall, a former Morehead player who inherited a 4-23 program from former coach Kyle Macy.
