The soulful sounds of Motown hit the American Idol stage Wednesday night.  Adam Lambert showed a softer side by singing "The Tracks of My Tears."

All the judges were more than pleased with Lambert's performance.  Thursday night, we'll hear performances from Motown legend Smokey Robinson, and a former Idol winner will return to the stage that launched his career.

Ruben Studdard, the season 2 American Idol winner, says, "Man, it's like, you know, going back to your high school and seeing your old teacher.  So you know these people that really influenced me a lot and that really helped me get to where I am right now, so I'm happy."

Another contestant will be sent home tonight unless the judges decide to use their new powers to save one.
