To View or Not To View

Hey guys! So Memorial Day weekend is upon us, and I know you're gonna want to spend all that free time in the theaters, right? Well allow me to give you my take on what's coming out.

First off, Terminator: Salvation looks to be the shoo-in for number one at the box office. I'm looking forward to this one, but still going in with a little trepidation because I am not a fan of director McG. The Charlie's Angels films, I thought, were a waste and I felt that his We Are Marshall movie could have been executed by a much better director. I love Christian Bale playing the adult John Connor, but I'm not sure if he can carry this whole thing on his back when it starts breaking down. Also a PG-13 rating for a Terminator flick? Give me a break! I guess we'll see about this one.

Next is the sequel to 2006's Night at the Museum, subtitled Battle of the Smithsonian. Let me belt out a sarcastic woo hoo. This may be a fun time for the kids, but I am staying far, far away from this one. I have more interest in performing a self-lobotomy than spending any more time on this one.

Lastly we have the new spoof movie of the week Dance Flick. This one is being marketed as another Wayans Brothers comedy, seeing as it is written by five members of the Wayans clan including Keenan-Ivory, Shawn, and Marlon Wayans. The director is nephew Damien Wayans and the star is Damon Wayans, Jr. I wonder if their mom or uncle Jimbo has a cameo? This is Damien's first feature film and while my wife laughed at the trailer I was recollecting a time when spoof movies used to be funny and, for that matter, good.

So enjoy your three day weekend and always remember to keep your theater clean!
