In-Production Movie News

Lots to reports today folks, so let's get on with it.

Ghostbusters III: Here is what we know so far, courtesy of Dan Aykroyd. At this point the script is still being worked on by The Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky and is supposed to be a "passing of the torch" film to possibly begin a new franchise. ALL of the original Ghostbusters are returning, as well as Sigourney Weaver.  None of the new characters has been cast, but expect a who's-who of current comedy actors. No release date has been given as of yet.

Mad Max 4: A few years ago director George Miller, creator and director of the previous three Max films, was working on a sequel titled Fury Road that fell through. Miller has stated that there will be a new actor portraying Max, since he feels that Mel Gibson is too old to play the character. Some production has started, despite no lead actor cast yet, in Australia.

THOR: We have a thunder god, folks! It's Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth, who viewers know from the new Star Trek film playing Kirk's dad. I'm curious about this cast, since right now I just don't see it. On the other hand, I am excited about the casting of Loki, the god of evil and Thor's half brother, being British actor Tom Hiddleston. Hiddleston is more than likely a name you've never heard, unless you watch a lot of BBC. Hiddleston has worked with director Kenneth Branagh before in stage plays and has won several awards for his stagework. Though I've never seen him in anything before, he just looks right for the part. Thor is still holding onto its May 20, 2011 release date at this time.
