Police investigating two deadly shootings

Metro police are investigating two deadly shootings within minutes and blocks of each other.

Police say a little after 10:00 Thursday night they were called to the back of an apartment building at 28th and Market Streets.  That's where police found the victim in a parking lot.

The coroner says 33-year-old Charles Neil died at the scene from several gun shot wounds.

Officers immediately began looking for witnesses in the area, and are still searching for answers.

Less than an hour later, someone called 911 and reported a man lying on West Jefferson Street between 34th and 36th.

Police say 40-year-old Rodney Haskins appeared to be shot at least once.  The coroner says Haskins died at the scene.  His autopsy is underway and there is no official cause of death.

It was not clear if this shooting was related to the earlier one on West Market Street.

If you have any information on either murder, call the anonymous police tip line at 574-LMPD.
