Officials in western Kentucky are investigating the fatal poisonings wildlife and domestic cats at the Ohio County Park.

The state Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources says a conservation officer and biologist collected numerous animal carcasses and dry cat food that was laced with the pesticide Furadan. The use of that pesticide is restricted.

The carcasses were found near or on a walking/bicycle trail and adjacent to a children's playground.
