Coaches Gone Wild (8/27/09)

Honestly, who do these high profile, highly paid coaches today think they are?  Do they believe just because they have reached an elite level that society's rules don't apply to them?

I remember Alabama Head Football Coach Mike Price who was fired before he ever coached a game because he had way too much to drink one night and was allegedly caught with a stripper in his hotel room.

Kelvin Sampson brought a corrupt program from Oklahoma to Indiana and in just two short years of cheating left in disgrace after getting Indiana put on probation by the NCAA for the first time ever.

Rick Pitino is now trying to kill the messengers who are reporting on the mess he created when he had too much to drink and couldn't keep his pants zipped.  When you are a person who profits from your fame and behave that badly, I'm sorry, but you have to take all the consequences that come with it.

Now, along comes our latest hero, Billy Gillespie, who already had two DUI arrests on his record and found himself busted early Thursday morning for yet another DUI.

It is said, "For everyone to whom much is given, much shall be required."  But many of today's coaches seem to think that means, "Since you have given me so much, turn your head while I indulge myself and take a little more."

I'm Bill Lamb...and that's my Point of View.
