Senate strips jobs provisions from bill

The Republican-ruled Indiana Senate has stripped a bill of several provisions passed by the Democrat-controlled House that were designed to create jobs.

Republican Senate Leader David Long of Fort Wayne ruled that the provisions added by the House were not related to the subject matter of the original Senate bill. That bill initially only dealt with changes in the way farm land is assessed for property tax purposes.
