Hal Heiner

For the past seven years, Hal Heiner has served as a Metro Councilman for Louisville's 19th district.

A University of Louisville graduate, Heiner founded Capstone Realty in 1997. Capstone Realty provides commercial real estate brokerage, property management and real estate investment services. According to Heiner's official bio distributed by his campaign, the company "helped to bring more than 4,000 jobs to South Jefferson County at a time when most development was in East Jefferson County."

His bio also states that as a Metro Councilman, Heiner has "spent his time focusing on finding efficiencies in services, shedding light on the inner dealings of Metro Government and finding smart ways for our community to grow and prosper."

Heiner has stated publicly that job creation and retention will play a big role in his administration. He says the leadership in this area must come straight from the top of city government.

"We also need a mayor who is passionately involved – that is the chief economic development official and somebody who is willing to get on the plane at a minute's notice and go visit those companies and roll out the red carpet for that group considering Louisville," he told Fox 41's Bennett Haeberle.

"Even here in Louisville, we've had Governor Haley Barbour from Mississippi here in Louisville recruiting jobs out of Louisville," he said. "We've had Governor Mitch Daniels here in Louisville multiple times talking to businesses here about how they'll roll out the red carpet in another state for that business. The mayor of Louisville needs to be that person rolling out the red carpet to businesses around the country if we're going to compete for the best jobs in the future."
