Tennessee woman center of adoption dispute with Russia
The Shelbyville woman at the center of an adoption dispute with Russia is a nurse at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Murfreesboro.
Torry Hansen works for the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System for the VA. It has 13 hospitals and clinics from Bowling Green, Ky., to Chattanooga. State Department of Health officials said she has no record of disciplinary action.
Hansen this week sent her 7-year-old adopted son back to Moscow with a note saying he was violent and had severe psychological problems. As a result, Russian officials have threatened to cut off all adoptions to the US.
