Humana sees 26% profit jump
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Humana is crediting a couple of factors in its 26 percent jump in profits for its first quarter.
The Louisville-based health insurer says it's due to a gain in its past medical claims reserves, along with a rise in its Medicare Advantage membership.
That offset a decrease in standalone prescription drug plans and commercial plans.
The company earned close to $259 million. That amounts to $1.52 a share.
