If I Ruled the World (6/22/10)

Do you ever say, "If I ruled the world, things would be different?"  I do.  And sometimes I like to share those ideas with you.

If I ruled the world… when you call a government agency or a business in the U.S. you would not have to press one to continue in English.  If you don't speak English in the United States of America then you would have to push one for Spanish or any other language spoken in your country of origin.

If I ruled the world… and if people were caught throwing trash out of their car windows, they would be sentenced to 30 consecutive days of picking up trash on our roads and highways.  That goes for dumping ashtrays out the window too.  Simply despicable.

Finally, if I ruled the world, terms for U.S. Representatives would be four years – not just two. As it is, elections are held so frequently, these folks are always in campaign mode -- which usually makes for lots of promises but little meaningful governing. I think my way would force them to focus more on doing their job than on simply winning it over and over.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.  Why don't you call us and let us know what you'd change if you ruled the world?

I'm Bill Lamb, and that's my Point of View.
