Since Point of View began in 2002, your participation has been critical to its success. The Point of View Feedback page is one of the most popular on our website, and I wanted to let you know about a new change in our feedback policy designed to boost participation even more.

From now on, instead of emailing us, anyone wanting to leave comments about any editorial may do so immediately by clicking on the new link that can be found on our home page or Point of View page. Since we're determined to keep things civil, any comments containing obscene language or nasty personal attacks will be blocked. But beyond that, everything will be posted exactly as you've written it, as soon as you've submitted it.

The biggest difference between this and the previous procedure is that no one will be cleaning up the spelling, grammar or punctuation before it's there for everyone to read.  Well-expressed opinions will appear adjacent to incoherent rants, and only you will determine which category you fall into.

So keep it clean. And try to make yourself – and your thoughts -- look as reasonable as possible.

Of course, we'll still be soliciting phone response to most of our Tuesday editorials and sharing it on Wednesdays. But I think this new website feature will make the public discussion on even livelier, and I hope you agree.
