Karen Haywood is a mother who won't give up. Four years after her son's death off Cherokee Parkway in Louisville, she and her family are still hunting for the killer.

18-year old Kyle Haywood was shot in the head and another man was wounded that October day in 2006. Sunday afternoon, Karen Haywood and her family left flowers at the site.

At one point during the investigation, police were investigating whether the shootings were drug related and they had released a composite of a suspect. But to date, nothing has turned up. The family also offered a $5,000 reward.

Karen Haywood tells Fox 41, "It is in the cold case file now, but they have had great luck with the cold case file. They were working on a few small things first, but they will get to the point where they will start over completely from the beginning again."

Haywood says there was a woman at the shooting scene back in 2006, and they're hoping she decides to come forward to tell what she knows. The other man wounded that day, has since died from other causes.

For many in the community, a shooting like this wasn't suppose to happen in this part of town. But they soon realized violence doesn't skip certain zip codes.
