Police bust real-life Thelma and Louise?
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Arrest reports obtained by Fox41.com paint a picture of two women some might call the real life Thelma and Louise.
Late Monday night, Louisville Metro Police arrested women they say were involved in multiple robberies in Louisville.
37-year-old Jennifer Lynn Cornett and 25-year-old Samantha Dawn Basham are charged with four counts of 1st degree robbery, according to arrest reports obtained by Fox41.com. They are accused of either robbing or attempting to rob the Dollar General Store in the 7500 block of Outer Loop, the Dollar General Store in the 8600 block of Preston Highway, the Family Dollar in the 7100 block of Preston Hwy., the Dollar General Store in the 8700 block of National Turnpike and the Dollar Tree in the 5600 block of Bardstown Road.
Police say that in each case, Cornett entered the business, indicated she was armed and demanded cash. Basham acted as her getaway driver.
The robberies took place between Oct. 12 and Oct. 18, according to the police report.
She pair were captured in the course of the final robbery at Dollar Tree on Bardstown Road. Police say Cornett demanded cash, as before, but the store employee refused to turn over any money and the pair fled. Police found them on Old Shepherdsville Road and arrested them.
Both Cornett and Basham admitted to the robberies in taped statements, according to the police reports.
