Students manage Papa John's at school

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB Fox 41)--Papa's in the house at Central High School.

The mobile Papa John's restaurant re-opened on Central's campus Tuesday. The students have spent a lot of time in the classroom learning about owning, operating, and managing a restaurant. Now they get to experience it first-hand.

"Today is kind of the big day where that comes out and they actually get to open their business," said Brianne Oliver, Papa John's classroom teacher. "It's the fruit of their labor coming up with all the background stuff. They have to come up with how they're going to handle their operations, the marketing, their human resources, their accounting."

You can buy pizza from the students after school. Papa John's donates 100% of the products.

All the money from pizza sales goes into a scholarship fund for the 16 seniors participating in the co-op.
