Ky. man charged with killing women in home

RICHMOND, Ky. (AP) -- Police in central Kentucky have charged a man with two counts of murder after the bodies of two women were found inside a home.

37-year-old John Payne also faces one count of tampering with physical evidence.

Richmond police say 55-year-old Cornellia G. Mullins and 32-year-old Meredith King were found inside a house Saturday afternoon and may have been there for several days.

Police say it appears the women died from gunshot wounds. Richmond Police Chief Larry R. Brock told The Lexington Herald-Leader that autopsy results will be released Monday.

Police were told there were bodies inside the house and received a search warrant to enter. Brock said there was a relationship between the suspect and the two victims, but declined to release details about it.
