Can you believe Derby and Mother's Day is past.  This year is going by so fast.  I know that I sometimes say, " I can't wait til this" or "I can't wait til that", but I realized that all I was doing was wishing my life away and not embracing the moment that is NOW.  I turned 50 on April 18th.  I looked forward to that day as a gift from God.  Nikki and Josh had a big birthday party for me and I danced as much as I could.  I don't take for granted the love they have for me and they know how much I love them.  My daughter has been blessed with a loving husband and 4 beautiful kids.  Josh is doing well at WKU and is focused on his goals.  They are not looking back but looking towards what needs to be done.  They are both proud of my progress so far in this contest.  They see a change in me and how I handle my finances.  I have had to say "NO" to self wants and look at my needs.  I have paid off some of my bills and looking forward to getting rid of some more.  Thanks Park Community Federal and Thanks Ken for staying on me.

March 22, 2011 - Well, it's the first day of spring was yesterday and it felt so good outside.  Time for the outdoors to start blooming and turning green and colorful.   Another thing that this signals is a time to start "Spring Cleaning."  I have to do some personal "cleaning".  I have started cleaning my email out and getting rid of all emails that are tempting.  You know the ones….30% off here and $20 off there.  I am trying to stay focused. I didn't realize how many emails I had that did this AND how many emails I have not deleted.  I guess I needed to start somewhere.  And the deleting goes on.

Jan. 6, 2011 - I hope and pray that everyone had a blessed holiday.  I know I did.  I got to spend some quality time with my family and my grandkids' excitement just made the time GREAT.

People have a tendency to make New Year's resolutions.  I don't like calling them resolutions.  It's just me.  I will work on them for a "moment" then cast them off to the side.  I guess no commitment.  Instead of calling them resolutions, let's call them goals.  This is a little bit more personal and I like the word better.  Well, I have some GOALS that I want to achieve. I have to get disciplined in all areas of my life.  I am a single mom and only have my income to aide me in taking care of my son (family), home or self.   It can be very hard because my ends don't meet.  Sometimes they don't even wave at each other, but I am going to have to do some financial maneuvering to fix this.  You heard the term, "more month, than money."  Well, do I have to say more.  This contest is helping me stay on focus.  No I was not a complete "angel" but I did not spend as much as I normally do.  I also used reward point to get gift certificates which helped a lot.  I did make some stuff and I used materials I had.  I can honestly say I did not have a credit card to charge to, so everything was paid for.  Now comes 2011.  I am going to go on attack mode and I can't wait to see what I will accomplish.

I will blog more on my other goals in the near future.  Stay tuned.

Dec. 22, 2010 - Well, 2010 is almost over.  Where did the time go.  My son has already finished his first semester at WKU and he did really good.  I am so proud of him.  Christmas is almost here. Two more days.  I am going to enjoy family and friends and not get caught up in the shopping frenzy.  I am going to make and bake a few things and sit back and relax for a moment.  Relax. Hmmmm a word I am not accustom to but I am going to give it a try. God bless and remember "Jesus is the Reason for the Season."
