A prosecutor assigned to the Bullitt County Attorney's office was arrested in Louisville last Thursday, after allegedly hitting a Louisville Metro Police officer's car. 36-year old Stephanie Kelley was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence and was taken to Louisville Metro Corrections.

According to the police report, Kelley hit the officer's car near the intersection of Reservoir and Frankfort Avenue just after 10 PM. After hitting the patrol car, she kept going and at the intersection of Frankfort and Pennsylvania, she stopped her car on the railroad tracks. The report says police had to remove her vehicle to avoid the train.

Officers say Kelley had blood shot glassy eyes and police detected the odor of alcoholic beverage on her person. The report also says Kelley told police she did not know why she was at the scene of a collision.

Kelley had worked for newly elected County Attorney Monica Meredith Robinson. Robinson tells Fox 41, Kelley is no longer with the office.

Former County Attorney Walt Sholar hired Kelley years ago and he tells Fox 41, she was a good employee. "Stephanie in the years she worked for me as a county attorney...I heard nothing but compliments from the courts and the judges. From police in terms of the job, she did a good job for us in District Court." Sholar said.

Kelley was released on her own recognizance and she has a scheduled arraignment for Tuesday.
