JCPS board votes on the last day of school

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- All the snow we've dealt with over the school year means some changes for students.

Students will now have to go to class on what were supposed to be days off.

The Jefferson County Board of Education voted to make up those snow days during its meeting last night.

Students will now have class on Valentine's Day - which was a parent/teacher conference day. They will also go to school on March 4 instead of having a professional development day.

That means the last day of school right now is June 1.

JCPS officials say they want to use the days within the school year, in case there are more snow days.
