LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Family members of Louisville native and Oscar-nominated actress Jennifer Lawrence played host at a youth film festival.
Bellewood Home for Children gave kids around the state a chance today to show off their filmmaking abilities.
The films had to have the theme of "grit."
Jennifer Lawrence's brother Ben delivered a message she sent to the attendees about what "Bellewood" means to her.
"The overall vision of helping kids who are in need. I think that Jennifer, when she went and met with the kids with the overall goal," said Ben Lawrence, Jennifer's brother.
Lawrence was nominated for an Oscar for Best Lead Actress for her role in this year's "Winter's Bone."
