New Albany city workers arrested for alleged burglary

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Two men arrested for allegedly burglarizing homes work for the city of New Albany.

29-year-old Jordan Rummage and 34-year-old Cory Smith were arrested.

New Albany police say they responded to Linden Meadows around 9:30 A.M. Friday.

They later discovered Rummage and Smith both worked for the city's Stormwater Utility.

New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey says, "Everybody in city government who I've spoken with concerning this case is very disappointed by this situation, and I think the public can rest assured that this situation will be dealt with promptly and properly."

Police continue to investigate.

Linden Meadows is an area of homes that were moved after Floyd Memorial Hospital expanded.

The city is working to rehabilitate those homes.
