LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41) -- Fox 41 News has learned that a Louisville Metro Police officer assigned to the LMPD's traffic unit was arrested early Sunday morning for DUI.

According to an arrest report obtained by Fox 41 News, 42-year-old Jeffrey Wheeler was driving northbound on Peabody Lane. As he approached Goldsmith Lane, police say he nearly struck a parked vehicle, but he didn't stop.

Police say Wheeler had slurred speech, glassy eyes and was unable to recite the alphabet. He also failed a one-legged stand test.

His blood/alcohol level registered at .205, according to the arrest report. He was charged with DUI and reckless driving.
