Louisville, KY. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police said a two-year-old girl drowned in her family pool Monday evening. Jaelynn Dillard was pronounced dead at Jewish Hospital Southwest at 7:27 p.m.
It happened after seven at a home on Brackenberry Court in Valley Station. Police said the family noticed the child was missing and began searching the neighborhood. She was found "minutes" later in the pool, unresponsive. The coroner's office says her death was consistent with drowning.
LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said it's still early in the investigation, but at this time officers don't suspect foul play. Mitchell said Child Protective Services is also investigating.
