Hoyas, Magic Claim Hoopfest Titles


It started with two-hundred and thirty-six teams...now the Hoopfest is down to the finalists in each division.

The Louisville Magic rolled into the finals of the 15-and-under division beating the Kentucky Elite in this afternoon's semi-finals. Craig Owens of Trinity converts and gets fouled.

D'Angelo Russell of Central is tough to stop on the drive...especially going left.

Ballard's Quentin Snider to Jordan Green of Henry Clay for a dunk...the Magic up twenty en route to an easy win. They went on to take the 15-and-under title 93-76 over Indiana Elite.

These Sophomore's-to-be are coached by former Louisville Cardinals Ellis Myles and Tony Williams. Myles started the team this spring and they have yet to lose in 15-and-under events...they have a couple more left in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. He says there's no doubt who he tries to pattern his coaching after.

The Boys 16-ane-under title was decided this afternoon...the B.A. Hoyas from Kentucky beat the Garner Road Bulldogs 64-62. The Hoyas led by 6'9" Purdue commitment Derek Willis from

The B.A. Hoyas 17-and-under team also made the championship game in that division...their bid for back-to-back titles came up just short...falling 59-55 to Florida Elite.
