ELKTON, Ky. (AP) -- Three people have pleaded not guilty to charges they robbed Mennonite homes in southern Kentucky.

The trio, 19-year-old Dachri Scott, 20-year-old Leavell Washington and 17-year-old Raul Hernandez, were assigned public defenders when they appeared in Todd Circuit Court on Wednesday. They are charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, first-degree wanton endangerment and two counts of second-degree burglary.

Prosecutors say the men robbed three Mennonite homes in February 2010, taking money and checks at gunpoint.

In Christian County, all three pleaded guilty to similar charges. Scott was sentenced to 27 years in prison, Hernandez received 25 years and Washington received 20 years, The Kentucky New Era reported.
