JCPS student arrested after allegedly bringing gun to school
LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A Central High School student has been arrested after allegedly bringing a loaded gun to school.
Officials stopped the student while he was walking in to school Wednesday morning because they thought he smelled of marijuana.
He was taken to an office, and officials found a loaded .22 caliber handgun inside his backpack.
Police have not released what he is charged with.
A JCPS spokesperson says the school plans to give the student a long-term suspension and recommendations for alternative placement.
