CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (WDRB) –- Clarksville police are investigating an attempted kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl last weekend. Investigators say the mother walked into the police station on Saturday to report someone tried to take her daughter.

The girl says she was riding her bike and racing with friends when she lost sight of them near Longfellow and Marlowe. The 10-year-old says when she turned the corner, a man came out from between the houses and stopped her.

The police report says the man asked the girl if she wanted to go somewhere with him, but she told him no and tried to pedal away.

That's when the girl says the man jerked her off the bike and told her she was going with him. The girl told police she bit the man on the arm, causing him to drop her. She then ran to Byron Drive and then home.

Police have few details about the suspect. If you have any information, call Clarksville Police at 812-288-7151.
