Man indicted with manslaughter in death of police officer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police have concluded an investigation into the death of a Metro Police Officer that happened nearly a year ago.

On September 30, 2010 Officer Paul Pegram was riding his bicycle near Taylorsville when he was struck by a vehicle operated by Daryl Fogel of Taylorsville.  Pegram died as a result of the injuries from the collision. 

The Kentucky State Police Collision Reconstruction Team presented their findings to a Spencer County Grand Jury on September 7.  The Spencer County Grand Jury returned an indictment charging Daryl Fogel with Manslaughter 2nd Degree.  Fogel was issued a summons to appear before the court on October 6, 2011 to answer to the charge.

Manslaughter 2nd Degree is a felony punishable by 5-10 years in prison.

Paul Pegram was a police officer with the Louisville Metro Police Department at the time he was killed.
