Sterling Riggs joins WDRB from Sherman, Texas where he anchored the evening news and helped launch a new ABC network affiliate. He started his television career in San Angelo, Texas and also spent time in Austin, Texas. Sterling's covered stories ranging from team chicken roping to a Blackhawk helicopter crash that led to a live appearance on CNN.
A Florida native, Sterling calls the white sand beaches of Destin home. He is always quick to talk about the best places to hit the beach or where to find a great hole in the wall restaurant.
Sterling attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and was a member of the Bison football team. Coming from a long line of accountants, he likes to say that he broke the family mold when he got into the television business. He'll tell you that he's the only one in the family with a lot of personality.
In his free time, Sterling likes being outdoors, whether it's on the beach or taking a jog through one of the many area parks. He is also a college sports fanatic and aviation enthusiast. He's flown a variety of planes ranging from an Air Force F-16 to a WW2 B-25.
