LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- It was another honor for celebrated Kentucky Marine Dakota Meyer, as he got to ring the opening bell at the start of the trading day at the New York Stock Exchange.

Meyer received the Medal of Honor last week for charging through enemy gunfire five times to rescue 36 people.  Those included other Marines, and both U.S. and Afghan soldiers.

Even though he was wounded himself, he also killed at least eight insurgents during the battle.  Meyer was also inducted into the Pentagon's Hall of Heroes last week.
