LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Jefferson County Public Schools is offering an online survey for people to weigh-in on proposed changes to the JCPS student assignment plan.

You can complete that survey at www.jcpsky.net.

JCPS has laid out proposed changes to the student assignment plan recommended by expert Doctor Gary Orfield.  Under his plan, the district would be broken up into 13 clusters instead of the current six. More clusters, in theory, would mean shorter ride times without sacrificing diversity.

You can see his full report at this address: http://www.jefferson.kyschools.us/News/TempNews/Orfieldreport.pdf

The survey questions are the same as those presented at the six community forums, which were held starting last month.  The final forum will be Thursday, October 13, at 7 p.m. at Southern High School, 8620 Preston Highway.

You can also call 485-3905 to leave a voice message about changes to the student assignment plan.
