LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- A Taylorsville man has pleaded not guilty to a manslaughter charge connected with the death of an off-duty Louisville police officer.  Daryl Fogel appeared in Spencer County Circuit Court Thursday morning.

He's charged in connection with the death of officer Paul Peagram in a crash on Kentucky 248 east of Taylorsville in September of last year.

Peagram was riding a bicycle when police said he was struck by Fogel's vehicle.  A grand jury indicted Fogel last month.  He faces as much as ten years in prison if convicted.

Fogel remains free on his own recognizance until a court hearing in December.
