LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say an intoxicated Louisville man decided to pick a fight with some firefighters. It ended badly for him.

According to an arrest report, police were called to Gilliland Road, just north of I-64, where 37-year-old Christopher S. Burks was fighting with Eastwood Fire responders.

When the officers got there, they found Burks inside his vehicle cursing at the firefighters. The officers placed handcuffs on him, and he allegedly began resisting, going as far as to beat his head on the shield inside the police vehicle.

Police say Burks was, "extremely belligerent," and that his actions, "caused alarm and inconvenience to the persons living in the area."

The firefighters told the officer that they initially stopped Burks when he, "attempted to turn around in the middle of Gilliland Road." The arresting officer said that Burks smelled strongly of alcohol and had difficulty standing, but the officer had not actually seen him driving his car.

Burks was eventually arrested and charge with alcohol intoxication and disorderly conduct.
