Blues festival provides toe-tapping good time

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People are gathering for a toe-tapping good time. The sixteenth annual Garvin Gate Blues Festival featured more than a dozen blues bands. The focus of the festival was clear.

"I think it's the music. It's the chance to come down and see blues in a venue down here in the heart of the city, the preservation district. People just want to come out and have a great time. It's a diverse crowd. It's a wonderful crowd," says Garvin Gates Neighborhood Association Chairperson Howard Rosenberg.

Each year the festival features award-winning artists like Karen Lovely and Grady Champion.

It's free and open to the public. Proceeds go to the Garvin Gate Neighborhood Association to preserve and improve the Old Louisville neighborhood.
