LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a man with 20 previous traffic citations was clocked doing more than 80 mph on Hurstbourne Pkwy., in a 45 mph zone.

Clayton J. Williams was spotted by police shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, allegedly at an "excessively" high rate of speed, "cutting around slower vehicles." Police say his actions were "reckless" and threatened the safety of his male passenger and other motorists.

"He has 20 prior traffic citations listed in Courtnet and he has a pending citation in court tomorrow for speeding 26 over and reckless driving," police say.

"The above is a danger to citizens in the Metro Louisville area," the officer added.

Police say he also had a semi-automatic pistol between the two seats of his car, but he was not charged in connection with this weapon.

Williams was charged with speeding 26 miles over the speed limit, wanton endangerment and reckless driving.
