LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say that, on Tuesday night, shortly after 8 p.m., three people acted out an elaborate drama at a south end car wash. The problem is, that drama was a business robbery -- and police say the so-called "victims" were just as guilty as the alleged robber.

Police say they know exactly who those three suspects are. According to arrest reports, they are 28-year-old William A. Piccolo III, 20-year-old Sarah Bramer and 26-year-old Anthony Middleton.

It happened at the Goo-Goo Car Wash in the 7700 block of Dixie Highway, near Fury Way. Police say Piccolo and Middleton were employees of the car wash and were emptying out the cash registers, when Bramer allegedly walked in, knocked Middleton to the ground and took $1,100 from the business.

She then allegedly left the scene.

But police say Piccolo and Middleton are not as innocent as that sequence of events makes them appear. Bramer is Piccolo's girlfriend and an acquaintance of Middleton's.

Upon questioning, all three suspects allegedly admitted to their involvement in the crime and said the robbery was staged. They were arrested Tuesday night. Bramer is charged with theft by unlawful taking and tampering with physical evidence. Both Piccolo and Middleton are charged with falsely reporting an incident.
