Suspect flashes salon full of women in La Grange

Posted: Updated:

LA GRANGE, KY. (WDRB) -- A woman steps out of a tanning bed to find her lingerie missing.  Police say someone stole it, and the real shocker is where it ended up.  Police say a man put on the lingerie and exposed himself to a salon full of women in La Grange.

Now officers need to find him.  There's always a lot of talk going on in beauty parlors, but what happened at Fantastic Sam's in La Grange has everyone talking, and employees worried.

"They're a little concerned how somebody can just walk in there and do that. And they had customers in there, too; so everybody is a little concerned," says officer Shannon Cunningham.

On Monday, a man walked into the salon, took a seat and then started disrobing, and that's when police were called.  "He pulled up his shirt and supposedly pulled down his shorts, exposing the women's underwear, and then fondled his genitals in front of everybody and then bolted."

Shortly after police arrived here at Fantastic Sam's there was another call.  That's when they determined that the suspect's first stop was at a tanning salon just across the street.

"When we got there, they reported that possibly the suspect had entered there and used the restroom and walked out, but then we learned that some underwear was stolen out of one of the rooms there."

Neither Sun Tan City nor Fantastic Sam's would comment on camera, but an employee at the hair salon told us they've "taken extra steps and precautions to protect customers and staff." And although no one was hurt, police are taking the case seriously.

"It's still a crime to ah... it's indecent exposure you just can't walk into a place and expose yourself and alarm everybody."

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s with a bald head and goatee.  So far no police do not have any leads, but they believe there's surveillance video that could change that.

"Hopefully it will either show his face just so we can get an ID on him."

Anyone with information about the suspect should call the La Grange Police department.
