Police identify murder victim found on 43rd Street

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The coroner's office has released the identity of a man found in the backyard of a house on south 43rd Street late Thursday night.

According to the coroner's office, 19-year-old Carlos Beamon who lived in the 300 block of Cecil Avenue, died from a gunshot wound.

Beamon's aunt, Ida Offut, said his body wasn't discovered until five hours after he was shot.

Police say Beamon did not live at the home where he was found.
