LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities say they've arrested a man who criminally abused a 2-year-old child back in September.

According to an arrest warrant, 22-year-old Tyler Berrios was living with a woman and her child, when he became angry and hit the child numerous times on the back and buttocks.

The child also suffered a bruise "under the right eye."

Berrios' girlfriend (the child's mother) contacted police the next day. Officers arrived and took pictures of the injuries, and on Sept. 13, the child was evaluated at the hospital.

A warrant was filed for the arrest of Tyler Berrios, and he was picked up on Friday morning, shortly after 7 a.m.

He's been charged with second-degree criminal abuse.
