LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police officials say a Pleasureville, Ky. man has died more than a week after he was involved in a serious crash on I-64 in Shelby County.

According to a news release, 23-year-old William A. Goodwin was driving a 2001 Dodge pickup truck in Shelby County shortly before 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. As he turned onto I-64 eastbound from the exit 35 entrance ramp, he lost control of his vehicle due to the wet road.

His truck was then struck by a semi-tractor trailer that was also traveling eastbound on the interstate. Both vehicles struck a concrete bridge abutment, and a second semi truck smashed into the first one.

Both Goodwin and the driver of the first semi truck were injured and were taken to University Hospital.

WDRB News has since learned that Goodwin died from his injuries on Friday.
