ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WDRB) -- A groundbreaking in Elizabethtown is linking Kentucky to a culture thousands of miles away, and creating dozens of new jobs at the same time.
Gov. Steve Beshear and others participated in a traditional Indian groundbreaking ceremony for the new company, Flex Films. The company is based in India and produces specialty films and holographic materials for packaging and printing machines.
The first phase of the project will be operational by the end of 2012 and includes a 180,000 square foot facility.
Officials say this will bring dozens of new jobs to the area.
"These are impressive numbers, especially when you consider that each one of those 250 jobs represents a Kentucky family which will be better equipped to survive this difficult economic time," says Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear.
The company also has facilities in Europe, Asia and Africa.
