LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LG&E is now defending its Louisville coal sludge processing plant and questioning lab results. It comes the day after our story aired stating that new samples show that homes are still being contaminated with flyash.

The Air Pollution Control District says its tests show the substance is still present on homes across from the plant. LG&E was cited in July and will likely be cited again this week for malfunctioning equipment and excessive emissions that led to coal dust clouds and flyash in August. The utility is disputing the city's test results.

"What I can tell you is that we are in full compliance. We've tested those homes and found flyash less than 1 percent - that was testing that was approved by the district."

A home belonging to Mitch Cunningham was power washed and showed 5 percent of flyash.

The city's Air Pollution Control District will likely send LG&E a notice of violation this week or next. The utility has not paid its $4,000 fine.

It's currently in discussion with Metro Government, and claims there have been no health issues related to flyash.
