Two familiar sculptures return to Kentucky Center

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Two familiar sculptures are back at their Kentucky Center home, but you won't be seeing them in their accustomed spot.

The red and white abstract pieces had stood on the steps of the Main Street entrance since 1983, but the works of art have been moved inside and will now be displayed in the lobby.

Because of years of weather damage, the pieces had to be restored at a fine arts laboratory in Ohio.

Rob Thomas of the Kentucky Center explains, "These are considered priceless works of art and Jean Debuffet is considered a masterclass artist and sculptor."

This is the third time the pieces have required restoration.
